Any brand lives or dies on the quality of the product. Its competitive strengths and weaknesses need to be thoroughly understood and potential improvements made within the constraints of profitability.

At Researchcraft we have expertise at all stages of the product development lifecycle, from NPD, through concept development, to evaluation and testing of the final product, packaging and pricing.

Product Testing

This is a vital component in the manufacturer’s armoury. But, while it is one of the oldest techniques in market research, that does not  mean it is always obvious how to test the products or interpret the results.

At Researchcraft, we consider product testing issues every day, giving consumers thousands of products to test and helping manufacturers to prepare for launch or improve their products.

How we test products depends on the objectives and products to be tested:

Is it a new product or a reformulation?
Are we looking for an improved performance, or for a cost saving not to be
      noticed?
Is there a need to control exactly how the product is prepared or tested, or do
we want a more real-life setting?

We use a wide range of methods to optimise cost-efficiency and ensure product
trial occurs in the appropriate setting. Here are some recent examples:

Recruiting respondents in-home to test competitive cleaning products across
a range of household tasks for a four week period.
Preparing a chicken curry to specific instructions to be eaten in a central
      location
by a pre-recruited sample.
Identifying concept acceptors through an online survey, posting a sanitary
protection product to them & conducting an online recall interview.
